YOU SAID IT: Bank on AI causing suffering

BANK ON AI CAUSING SUFFERING

While I firmly believe AI has its place, it’s becoming clear that there will be major job losses in the future because of it. Between companies leaving Canada for the U.S. and the use of AI in business, Canadians will suffer big time.

Take, for instance, the big major banks; they are embracing it and CEOs are pushing for it. Of course they are … it’s not enough that they haul in billions every year in profits, they want more, and all on the backs of lowly workers.

I remember the good old days when you didn’t have to pay to have an account; it was enough that they made interest on loans and mortgages, etc. Many people can’t afford to keep a minimum balance in order to waive those fees, especially these days.

Will the banks give customers a break? I doubt it … they’ve tasted those massive profits and aren’t about to give them up.

Computers were supposed to make life easier and faster, but now we’re finding out that they also come with downsides. AI also has downsides, only on a more insidious scale.

NOT TOO CLASSY, CANADIAN FANS

Just a thought to the outraged, but it is not the trade war that is causing American NHL players to want to leave Canada. It is the constant criticism of the U.S. Booing their national anthem constantly because you hate the U.S. is ridiculous.

Try showing some class.
