A man with a history of violence against women has been released in Vancouver, despite earlier cutting off his ankle monitor.

Vancouver police Sgt. Adam Donaldson said Jordan Glen McIntosh, 42, was released from custody on March 18, following a breach of conditional sentence order hearing.

Donaldson said McIntosh had been released in Vancouver last September after serving a conditional sentence for two counts of assault and one count of breaching a release order from a 2024 incident.

At that time, McIntosh was bound by several conditions, which included wearing an ankle monitor.

Donaldson said that on Dec. 4, 2025, McIntosh cut off his ankle monitor and went missing.

“Investigators with the VPD’s intimate partner violence and risk assessment unit became involved due to McIntosh’s history of violence against women,” he said.

On March 2, 2026, McIntosh was traced to Vancouver Downtown Eastside rooming house where he was arrested after jumping out of a window.

He was held in custody until his release on March 18.

“The court ultimately decided to release him back into the community to serve his sentence with another ankle monitor, rather than keep him in custody,” Donaldson said.

McIntosh has 49 criminal convictions, including 11 for violence or weapons.
